The Patient Portal Specialist will be responsible for the patient portal correspondence. Our patient portal has an area where patients can send us messages and request through the system. These messages must be imported into the patient file, reviewed and sent to the appropriate person for response.
TO IMPORT:
o To import messages, you will sign into eyecare
o Go to the work list icon at the top toward the right (looks like a clipboard)
o Click “Portal Messages to be reviewed”
o Once you click that a list with all the patient messages will appear. Once the patient messages appear you can click on a patient and it will take you to their page.
o Once on their page click “EXAM”- this will take you to the EHR or doctor bag.
o Click “ADD” or the plus sign> go to “communications”
o That should import the message into the patient file.
o Send a todo to the appropriate person to respond, if it is something you can handle send yourself a todo. If not, All refill or RX requests will go to the todo “REF” for review, all other messages should be forwarded to the appropriate doctor or eyewear stylist.
o Once the todo is sent Click the three dots and select edit
o You will go into the communication and check the box toward the bottom that says “to be reviewed” this will take it out of the list.
