Here at Professional Vision Care we have many different frame lines. We pride ourselves in having the most up to date and modern frames. This is why it is always changing! Currently, we have frame lines like Gucci, Coach, Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo, Boss, and more!
During this training we will go over a few frame lines that you’ll find at most of our practices, but it’s very important to make a special effort to get to know the frame lines that are displayed at all the offices!
Why is it important to know where the different frame lines are displayed at each office, and why do you need to know a little about each frame line? Several reasons:
When you are working with a patient, you are the expert! Having knowledge about the frame lines will allow you to answer patient questions and prove that you are the expert that they expect you to be!
When you are working with a patient, it is YOUR responsibility to pick out a few frames that you think would work best for the patient. It is helpful to know which frame lines are for men vs women; which frame lines carry larger sizes; which have fun colors and designs; which are more durable. These are all things you must know about each frame line in order to successfully pick frames out for a patient efficiently—otherwise you are going to be walking all over the showrooms looking like you don’t know what you are doing! And we would love to avoid that. :D
Knowing the frame lines will help you best utilize the patient’s vision plan benefits. Many plans give the patient an EXTRA contribution if the patient chooses to purchase a frame from specific frame lines. If you know which frames those are, you can automatically choose frames from those lines for the patient and thrill them with their extra savings!
So one of your first priorities as an optician is to learn your frames! Discover where the men’s frames are typically placed, where the women’s frames are, where the Silhoutte display is located, and where your package frame options are. Again, because displays, lines, and placement are constantly changing, this training does not spell out each location’s selection. As an activity with this module, you will start working on a scavenger hunt that will help you learn the frame lines at each office. Use this opportunity to familiarize yourself and take mental notes of placement and location, and you will have a head start once you begin your training on the floor!
There are several frame lines that we feature on our website and that are popular with our patients, so for the rest of this training, you will have the opportunity to learn a little about our most common and specialty frame lines. Revisit this resource or our website anytime you need a refresher on the history and story of quality for these lines!
