Reading the Rx
In order to choose the best lens, you are going to refer to the spectacle prescription. Once you are able to read a prescription you will be able to know exactly which lens is best for the patient. First, let’s go over the different parts of the prescription.
The different elements help us decide what lenses and materials are best for the patient. We always want to make sure we give the patient crystal clear, comfortable lenses. In addition, we always want to check the vision benefits to help determine which lens brands to work with as discussed in the lens guide training. Lastly, we always want to add transitions and/or AR (anti-reflective) to protect the patient’s eyes.
