Did you know that at Professional VisionCare, an average of 25% of all of our new patients come from our happy current patients referring their friends and family to our practice? We take great pride in this! this is much higher than the national average and confirms that we are fulfilling our mission of providing exemplary and high quality care to our patients! Patients don’t refer unless they enjoy their patient experience, and everyone that works at Professional VisionCare is responsible for this success!
We love to say thank you to our patients that refer new patients to our practice, and we also want to encourage them and other patients to continue to send folks our way. So, we have created a “Share the Care” program that allows patients to easily refer their family and friends, with a small token of appreciation included!
The Share the Care program is simple: for every new patient that they refer to us who comes in for an appointment, they will receive a $15 virtual gift card to use on ANY service or charge at Professional VisionCare. PLUS, the new patient they refer will also receive a $15 credit on ANY service.
We have small cards (and periodically send out emails) with our Share the Care information listed that all team members are encouraged to give to happy patients. The cards and email flyers look something like this:
So what is the optician’s responsibility with Share the Care?
With every patient you work with, create a cheerful, memorable, and/or positive experience with the patient, as per usual.
When you are ready to schedule the patient’s exam for next year (recall), or any other appointments that the doctor prescribed, ask the patient if they know about our Share the Care program.
If they do or don’t, hand them a card, and remind them that they could receive $15 towards future eyewear and services for every new patient they send our way, just to say thanks! Write their name on the card, and encourage them to keep it and hand it to anyone they think may be interested.
At this point, ask them casually if they have any family members that they would like you to schedule now?
If they don’t, no worries, move right along! But if they do, be sure to thank them and make them feel extra special! :D
Side Note: if a patient is not having a great time and you are unable to turn their experience around into something happy, you are welcome to skip the Share the Care conversation. But otherwise, let’s offer it to all!
